Abstract
Southern African communities in Eritrea have a rich tradition of oral traditions that serve as historical narratives and cultural heritage. An interpretative approach will be employed to analyse existing literature on oral traditions in Eritrean communities, including interviews with community elders and focus group discussions. These oral traditions provide invaluable insights into the social fabric and historical evolution of Southern African communities in Eritrea, offering a nuanced understanding that complements more formal written records. Further research should focus on documenting and preserving these oral narratives to ensure their survival for future generations.
