Abstract

Gambia is a country in West Africa where Afro-Linguistics has been applied to study African language structures. The analysis is based on existing scholarly works that have explored the application of Afro-Linguistics to African language structures, particularly those published in recent years. Gambian perspectives enrich our understanding of Afro-Linguistics by emphasising specific language groups that are underrepresented in broader African linguistic studies. Further research should aim to include more diverse linguistic samples, particularly from minority language communities within Gambia’s complex cultural fabric.
