Abstract
Creation myths play a significant role in understanding the cultural heritage of South Africa’s diverse indigenous populations. The study employed ethnographic research methods to collect oral traditions from various communities. A thematic analysis was used for data interpretation. A notable theme emerged regarding the importance of water in mythological narratives among several indigenous groups. Indigenous creation myths provide valuable insights into the spiritual and environmental values of South African cultures. Further comparative studies should incorporate broader geographical contexts to enhance cultural understanding. Creation Myths, Indigenous Cultures, Ethnographic Research
