Methodological Evaluation of Regional Monitoring Networks in Senegal for Risk Reduction Measurement Assessment
Abstract
Regional monitoring networks have been implemented in Senegal to assess environmental risks and reduce associated hazards. A randomized field trial was conducted across different regions of Senegal to test the performance and efficiency of monitoring systems. The study employed statistical models to analyse data collected from various environmental parameters. The analysis revealed significant reductions in identified risks (p < 0.05) when using regional networks compared to standalone local measures, indicating their effectiveness in localized risk management. The findings underscore the importance of a comprehensive and coordinated approach through regional monitoring systems for efficient environmental risk reduction. Enhanced collaboration between stakeholders and continuous evaluation of monitoring practices are recommended for optimal performance.
