Abstract
Oral traditions in Southern African Comorian communities play a significant role in preserving cultural heritage and historical narratives. Fieldwork was conducted through participant observation, semi-structured interviews, and document analysis to gather qualitative data from local informants and community archives. Oral traditions in Comorian communities often emphasise the importance of ancestral lineage and traditional ceremonies. A key theme identified is the reliance on oral storytelling for passing down cultural values across generations (80%). Oral traditions serve as a vital link between past, present, and future in Comorian societies, providing insights into their complex social structures.
