Abstract

Urban informal settlements in Lagos, Nigeria face significant health challenges due to limited access to healthcare services. A systematic literature review was conducted using databases such as PubMed and Google Scholar, focusing on articles published between January 1, , and December 31, . The analysis revealed that only 45% of the population in surveyed settlements utilised health surveillance services due to communication barriers with service providers. Effective communication strategies are essential for improving the utilization rates of health surveillance systems within urban informal settlements. Public-private partnerships should be encouraged to enhance communication channels and improve service delivery. Treatment effect was estimated with $\text{logit}(p_i)=\beta_0+\beta^\top X_i$, and uncertainty reported using confidence-interval based inference.
