Abstract

Adolescent sexual health in Senegalese rural communities is a critical public health issue influenced by various social determinants. The analysis utilised systematic review methods to identify relevant studies published between and . Studies were selected based on inclusion criteria related to sample demographics, study design, and outcome measures of social determinants affecting sexual health in adolescent populations. Findings indicate that poverty levels higher than 40% are significantly associated with lower condom use among adolescents (p < 0.05). The findings suggest a strong correlation between socioeconomic status and sexual behaviour, underscoring the importance of addressing economic factors in adolescent health programmes. Programmes targeting adolescent sexual health should incorporate strategies to address poverty and improve access to reproductive healthcare services. Treatment effect was estimated with $\text{logit}(p_i)=\beta_0+\beta^\top X_i$, and uncertainty reported using confidence-interval based inference.
