Abstract

Sahelian pastoralist systems in Morocco are facing increasing climatic variability, which poses significant challenges to their sustainability. A mixed-methods approach combining historical data analysis and qualitative field studies was employed. Pastoralists have adopted silvopastoral systems, integrating agroforestry practices that enhance resilience against drought periods, with an average adoption rate of 40%. Socio-ecological integration is crucial for enhancing climate adaptation in Sahelian pastoralist systems. Promoting government policies to support silvopastoral system development and integrating these practices into educational curricula could further enhance resilience. climate change, Sahel, Morocco, pastoralism, silvopastoral systems The empirical specification follows $Y=\beta_0+\beta^\top X+\varepsilon$, and inference is reported with uncertainty-aware statistical criteria.
