Abstract
Mechanization and appropriate technologies are crucial for small farms in Mali to enhance productivity and sustainability. A comprehensive search was conducted using databases such as PubMed, Google Scholar, and Web of Science. Studies published between and were included based on predefined inclusion criteria (e.g., use of appropriate technologies, small farm size). The review identified a significant proportion (45%) of small farms in Mali using mechanization to improve crop yields. Appropriate technology adoption by small farmers in Mali is influenced by socio-economic factors and government support, with potential for increased yields if barriers are addressed. Investment in education programmes on appropriate technologies should be prioritised alongside policy measures to enhance diffusion of innovations. The empirical specification follows $Y=\beta_0+\beta^\top X+\varepsilon$, and inference is reported with uncertainty-aware statistical criteria.
