Abstract

Historical Foundations of Governance Struggles in Contemporary Kenya explores the roots of contemporary governance challenges in Kenya by examining historical patterns and political dynamics. This study employs a qualitative approach to explore archival documents, oral histories, and secondary data from academic sources to trace the evolution of governance structures. The analysis reveals a significant historical pattern where colonial administrative divisions have influenced contemporary political boundaries and resource distribution in Kenya. Colonial-era policies laid foundational issues that persist today, including skewed power dynamics and resource allocation inefficiencies. Recommendations include revisiting current governance structures to align more closely with historical contexts and promote equitable development.
