Abstract

The Nile Basin is a critically water-scarce region with significant agricultural value in Cameroon. A qualitative approach involving interviews with local stakeholders and secondary data analysis of existing policies and literature related to water management in the region. Given the heightened awareness of potential conflicts due to climate change impacts and development projects, there is an urgent need for Cameroon to enhance its water security through robust policy frameworks and collaborative governance models. Cameroon should invest in research to better understand local water needs and vulnerabilities, foster dialogue among stakeholders across the basin, and implement adaptive management strategies that integrate traditional knowledge with modern technology.
