Abstract

The Nile Basin in Seychelles is facing water scarcity issues that threaten both ecological balance and socio-economic development. A qualitative approach was employed to review existing policies and propose recommendations based on expert consultations and literature reviews. Findings indicate that current water allocation practices favour agriculture over urban needs, leading to significant disparities in access. Despite the lack of empirical data, preliminary analysis suggests a need for more inclusive governance structures and improved stakeholder engagement mechanisms. Develop a comprehensive policy framework aimed at balancing agricultural and urban water demands through collaborative decision-making processes.
