Abstract

Post-conflict African states present unique business environments characterized by instability, corruption, and resource scarcity. The study employs qualitative research methods including semi-structured interviews with stakeholders to gather insights into business operations and decision-making processes. Businesses often face significant operational difficulties such as unreliable power supplies (60%) and corruption (45%), while also identifying growth opportunities related to government contracts and foreign investment (28%). The findings highlight the complex interplay between challenges and opportunities in post-conflict African business landscapes. Businesses should develop resilience strategies, engage with local governments for support, and diversify their operations to mitigate risks and capitalize on potential growth areas.
