Abstract

Cooperatives play a crucial role in enhancing resilience among smallholder farmers in Rwanda's agricultural sector. A mixed-methods approach was employed, including surveys, interviews, and case studies to gather data from 100 randomly selected farmers within six cooperatives. Findings indicate that cooperatives significantly improved farmer income by an average of 25% through collective purchasing power and market access. The role of cooperatives in fostering resilience among Rwandan farmers is evident, with substantial economic benefits observed. Further support should be provided to enhance cooperative structures for even greater impact on farmer livelihoods. The empirical specification follows $Y=\beta_0+\beta^\top X+\varepsilon$, and inference is reported with uncertainty-aware statistical criteria.
