Investment Climate and FDI Attraction in Mozambique: A Qualitative Inquiry into 2008 Contextual Dynamics

Abstract

This study examines the investment climate and its impact on foreign direct investment (FDI) in Mozambique during a specific historical context. Qualitative research methods were employed, including semi-structured interviews with key stakeholders such as investors, business leaders, and policymakers to gather insights into the investment climate of . Themes emerged from the data include a strong emphasis on regulatory transparency and investor protection measures that positively influenced FDI flows during that period. The findings suggest that improvements in governance and regulatory frameworks played a crucial role in enhancing Mozambique’s attractiveness as an investment destination for foreign investors. Based on the study's insights, policymakers are recommended to continue efforts towards improving transparency and implementing effective regulatory measures to sustain FDI attraction.
