Sustainable Development Strategies in Guinea-Bissau: An Analytical Framework for African Business Initiatives
Abstract
Sustainable development in Guinea-Bissau faces significant challenges due to economic instability, high poverty rates, and environmental degradation. A mixed-methods approach combining qualitative interviews with quantitative surveys was employed to assess stakeholder perceptions and actual practices related to sustainable development initiatives. The analysis highlights the importance of integrating community engagement into business strategies to achieve long-term sustainability goals in Guinea-Bissau. Policy recommendations include incentivizing businesses to engage more deeply with local communities and promoting collaboration between government, NGOs, and private sector entities.
