Abstract
The Role of African Universities in Knowledge Production and Dissemination in Central African Republic (CAR) examines the role of universities within the broader knowledge ecosystem of CAR. The study employs a mixed-methods approach, combining quantitative data analysis with qualitative insights from interviews and focus group discussions with key stakeholders in CAR's education sector. The findings reveal a significant disparity between theoretical objectives set by the universities and practical outcomes. For instance, there is an underutilization of university resources which accounts for 40% of reported inefficiencies. While the book highlights commendable efforts in establishing research centers and scholarships, it also underscores critical areas needing improvement such as infrastructure development and faculty training programmes. The review recommends increased investment in digital technology to enhance accessibility of university resources, alongside fostering stronger partnerships with private sector entities for broader impact.
