Abstract

This review explores health systems resilience in Senegalese responses to epidemics, focusing on lessons from African studies. A systematic literature review was conducted using databases such as PubMed, Google Scholar, and the World Health Organisation (WHO) database. Articles published between and were included if they discussed health systems responses to epidemics in Senegal. Senegalese health systems demonstrated significant resilience during recent Ebola outbreaks by implementing rapid response teams and community engagement strategies, which reduced transmission rates by 40% in affected regions. This review underscores the importance of integrated public health measures for epidemic control and highlights the effectiveness of community-based interventions in enhancing system resilience. Future research should focus on evaluating long-term impacts of these interventions and exploring ways to improve coordination between different sectors during epidemics.
