Abstract

The study explores the evolution of philosophical thought in Lesotho following its independence from colonial rule. A comprehensive survey was conducted among a diverse sample of philosophers, scholars, and students to gather insights into philosophical developments since independence. Findings indicate that there is a notable increase in the integration of traditional Basotho values with Western philosophy, particularly evident in recent publications focusing on ethics and cultural identity. The survey reveals a dynamic interplay between indigenous and global philosophical thought, highlighting Lesotho's unique contribution to African studies. Further research should focus on the impact of digital media on contemporary philosophical discourse in Lesotho. Philosophical Evolution, Post-Colonial Studies, Lesotho Independence
