Abstract

Agricultural production in Seychelles is particularly vulnerable to climate shocks such as droughts and floods, threatening food security and economic stability. The study employed a structured questionnaire distributed among farmers, suppliers, and government officials in Seychelles. The data were analysed using descriptive statistics. Farmers reported experiencing significant yield losses due to unpredictable weather patterns, with nearly 40% of respondents indicating decreased crop yields over the past five years. The findings underscore the need for enhanced climate adaptation strategies and infrastructure improvements in Seychelles' agricultural sector. Investment in early warning systems, irrigation technologies, and insurance schemes is recommended to bolster supply chain resilience.
