Corporate Social Responsibility Practices in Multinational Corporations within Angola's Context
Abstract
Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) practices among multinational corporations (MNCs) in Angola have been increasingly recognised as crucial for sustainable development and stakeholder satisfaction. The study employed a mixed-method approach, combining quantitative analysis of publicly available data from corporate reports and qualitative interviews with key stakeholders in selected industries. Data was analysed using thematic coding techniques to identify CSR themes and practices. Findings indicated that while there is variability across sectors, MNCs within Angola predominantly emphasise environmental protection and community development initiatives, reflecting broader global trends but adapted to local contexts. The research highlights significant advancements in MNCs' CSR practices in Angola, including increased transparency and stakeholder engagement, although challenges remain regarding the integration of CSR into core business strategies. Future studies should focus on enhancing the alignment between CSR activities and broader corporate goals to ensure sustainability and long-term success. Policy recommendations include fostering an enabling environment that supports CSR without compromising profitability.
