Abstract

Agricultural supply chains in Burkina Faso are vulnerable to climate shocks such as droughts and floods, affecting food security and economic stability. Qualitative research methods were utilised, including semi-structured interviews with farmers, traders, and government officials in Burkina Faso. Farmers reported a significant 30% reduction in crop yields due to droughts over the past five years, necessitating diversified farming practices. The findings highlight the importance of diversification as a key resilience strategy for agricultural supply chains in Burkina Faso. Government policies should incentivize farmers to adopt climate-resilient crops and enhance infrastructure to support post-harvest activities.
