Afrofuturism as a Lens to Interpret African Moroccan Futures

Abstract
Afrofuturism is a cultural movement that explores future possibilities of African diasporic identities and experiences through speculative fiction, art, and technology. No empirical data were collected in this study. The analysis draws from existing literature, theoretical frameworks of Afrofuturism, and comparative case studies of other African countries. A key theme emerging from the analysis is the potential for Morocco to leverage its historical ties with Africa to foster technological innovation and cultural revival. The study suggests that integrating Afrofuturist perspectives into Moroccan policy could lead to more inclusive and forward-looking development strategies. Policy makers should consider incorporating Afrofuturism in their strategic planning processes to enhance the relevance of future-oriented policies in Morocco.
