Abstract

The concept of Pan-Africanism has evolved over decades in Africa, with Nigeria playing a pivotal role as an economic and cultural hub. A comprehensive literature review was conducted using academic databases such as JSTOR, Google Scholar, and AfricaFocus. A total of 25 peer-reviewed articles from to were analysed. The findings indicate that while there is a growing interest in Pan-Africanism, the implementation challenges are significant, particularly regarding economic integration and cultural preservation. Nigeria faces both opportunities for regional cooperation and threats of internal division under the Pan-African banner. Policy makers should prioritise fostering economic ties within the continent to enhance Nigeria's position in a Pan-African context.
