Abstract

Urban Senegal is characterized by a significant informal sector that plays a crucial role in local economies. A qualitative research approach was employed to gather data from interviews with small-scale entrepreneurs and community leaders. Understanding the role of the informal economy is essential for policymakers aiming to foster inclusive economic growth in urban areas. Policymakers should consider supporting informal sector initiatives that align with broader development goals, such as enhancing access to finance and improving market regulations.
