Policy Dynamics in Senegal: Exploring Business Research Implications

Abstract
In Senegal, business policies have been pivotal in shaping economic development strategies, particularly in sectors such as agriculture and tourism. The study employs a qualitative approach, utilising semi-structured interviews with policymakers, industry experts, and academic researchers to gather insights into current policies and their implications for businesses. A notable theme identified was the lack of consistent alignment between government policy directives and actual implementation practices in key sectors, affecting business confidence and investment decisions. The qualitative data reveals significant gaps in policy coherence that impact private sector performance and long-term economic stability in Senegal. To enhance policy effectiveness, a more integrated approach to policy formulation is recommended, involving broader stakeholder consultations and regular evaluations of policy impacts on businesses.
