Abstract

E-waste recycling in Nairobi's informal tech markets is a growing phenomenon that poses both economic and environmental challenges. The analysis employs a qualitative approach to explore market dynamics and stakeholder perspectives on e-waste recycling. While e-waste recycling in Nairobi’s informal tech markets holds promise for sustainable development, it requires tailored policy frameworks to address operational inefficiencies and environmental risks effectively. Policy makers should encourage the development of specialized facilities and promote community-based initiatives that ensure both economic benefits and environmental protection.
