Economic Bloc Dynamics in Uganda: A Mixed Methods Comparative Analysis

Abstract
The study examines the economic bloc dynamics in Uganda within the broader context of African macroeconomic studies. A mixed methods approach combining qualitative interviews with quantitative data from national surveys to assess the effectiveness and inclusivity of existing economic blocs in Uganda. Findings indicate a significant preference among Ugandans for regional integration, with over 70% endorsing such arrangements as beneficial, while also highlighting the need for more inclusive policies that address socio-economic disparities. The study concludes that while current economic blocs in Uganda are generally seen positively, there is a clear call for enhanced inclusivity and policy adjustments to better serve all sectors of society. Recommendations include fostering greater stakeholder engagement, particularly among marginalized groups, and implementing targeted interventions to ensure equitable benefits from regional integration efforts.
