Abstract

Côte d'Ivoire cities face significant youth unemployment, highlighting a need for innovative employment solutions. Business incubators have emerged as promising interventions, yet their effectiveness varies by gender. Theoretical analysis grounded in existing literature on gender and entrepreneurship, using qualitative insights from interviews with key stakeholders in Côte d'Ivoire. A gender-sensitive business incubator model is proposed as a pathway for enhancing youth employment outcomes in Côte d'Ivoire cities, with an emphasis on leveraging existing female networks and support structures. Policy recommendations include the need for government funding and partnership with local women's organizations to facilitate the development of such gender-responsive models.
