Abstract

Microfinance programmes have become a significant component of development strategies in urban areas worldwide, particularly targeting youth employment opportunities. Theoretical analysis will be employed, drawing on existing literature and economic theory to conceptualize the dynamics between microfinance programmes and youth employment outcomes. A comprehensive theoretical model will be proposed to guide further empirical research into the complex interplay between microfinance and youth employment in Lagos. Future studies should consider integrating qualitative data to enhance understanding of individual experiences within microfinance programmes and their impact on urban youth employment.
