Abstract
Trade Winds Across Mozambique explores the impact of trade liberalization on crop yields and livelihoods in urban settings of Mozambique. No empirical results are presented due to methodological constraints, focusing instead on existing literature and theoretical analysis. Urban agriculture in Mozambique shows a significant decline in crop yields following trade liberalization policies, with particular emphasis on maize production. The review underscores the need for more supportive agricultural policies that consider urban agro-systems' unique challenges. Policy makers are advised to integrate urban agriculture into national development plans and provide targeted support to small-scale farmers in cities.
