Abstract

This study examines economic empowerment initiatives targeting female skilled workers in Kampala's informal markets, focusing on their impact. Qualitative research methods were employed, including interviews with market participants and focus group discussions to gather data. Female skilled workers reported a significant increase in income by 20% after participating in the economic empowerment programmes, which was driven primarily by improved business management skills. The findings suggest that targeted economic empowerment initiatives can effectively enhance the financial stability of female entrepreneurs in Kampala's informal markets. Policy makers are encouraged to further support and scale up these initiatives to benefit more women entrepreneurs.
