Methodological Evaluation of Community Health Centres Systems in South Africa: Quasi-Experimental Design for Risk Reduction Assessment

Abstract

Community health centres in South Africa play a critical role in primary healthcare delivery. However, their effectiveness varies, and there is a need for methodological evaluation to enhance risk reduction strategies. A mixed-methods approach combining quantitative and qualitative data was employed, including surveys, interviews, and observational studies. Data were analysed using statistical software for inferential analysis. Community health centres in South Africa demonstrated an average risk reduction of 20% in chronic disease management when compared to baseline levels, with significant reductions observed in cardiovascular diseases. The quasi-experimental design provided robust evidence supporting the effectiveness of community health centre systems in reducing healthcare risks among populations. Further research should be conducted to identify best practices and areas for improvement within South African community health centres.
