Methodological Evaluation of District Hospitals Systems in Ethiopia Using Difference-in-Differences for Clinical Outcome Assessment

The healthcare system in Ethiopia faces challenges, particularly in district hospitals where resource limitations can affect patient outcomes. A Difference-in-Differences approach was used to assess the impact of system improvements on clinical outcomes. Data from four districts were analysed, with baseline data collected before system changes and follow-up data after implementation. The DiD analysis revealed a significant increase in patient recovery rates (p < 0.05) post-system improvement, indicating effective intervention strategies. This study provides robust evidence for the effectiveness of system improvements on clinical outcomes in district hospitals in Ethiopia. Based on these findings, further systematic evaluations and targeted interventions should be considered to sustain positive impacts.
