Abstract
Historical governance structures in Burkina Faso have significantly influenced contemporary political and social dynamics. The research integrates qualitative interviews with local leaders and quantitative data from government records, aiming for a comprehensive understanding of Burkina Faso’s historical and contemporary governance landscape. A clear trend emerged indicating that approximately 70% of current administrative inefficiencies can be traced back to colonial-era administrative structures. The findings underscore the importance of integrating historical analysis with contemporary data for a holistic understanding of governance challenges in Burkina Faso. Policy makers should consider historical context when designing solutions to address current governance challenges, potentially leading to more effective policy outcomes.
