Abstract

Natural resources play a significant role in the economies of Central African countries, including Algeria, which is characterized by political instability and weak governance structures. The study employs qualitative research methods involving interviews with policy makers, civil society representatives, and academic experts to understand the current state of natural resources management in Algeria. Findings indicate that corruption is a pervasive issue within the extractive industries, affecting both revenue distribution and environmental sustainability. The political economy dynamics reveal significant challenges in resource governance, necessitating comprehensive reforms aimed at enhancing transparency and accountability. Recommendations include strengthening anti-corruption measures, increasing public participation in decision-making processes regarding natural resources, and implementing sustainable development strategies.
