Abstract
Digital inclusion in rural Cape Verdean communities is a critical issue amid the digital divide, highlighting socio-economic disparities and technological access. A comparative study employing quantitative surveys in three randomly selected rural areas of Cape Verde, analysing socio-economic data alongside survey results from local residents. The analysis revealed a significant disparity (25%) in internet accessibility among the sampled communities, influenced by factors such as income levels and infrastructure availability. Rural Cape Verdean communities face substantial challenges related to digital inclusion, with socio-economic disparities significantly impacting access to digital services. Policy recommendations include targeted investments in rural broadband infrastructure and socioeconomic support programmes to bridge the digital divide.
