Abstract
Sustainable development in Africa, particularly South Africa's business contexts, faces complex governance challenges that affect both economic growth and environmental sustainability. No empirical data are used; instead, the article employs a qualitative approach with literature review and conceptual analysis to construct the theoretical framework. The theoretical model underscores the importance of integrating sustainability into core business operations for long-term success. Businesses should prioritise stakeholder collaboration as a cornerstone for sustainable development governance in South Africa.
