Abstract

Microfinance programmes have been implemented in various contexts to support entrepreneurship among youth, but their effectiveness varies across regions and populations. A survey was conducted among 300 youth entrepreneurs who have participated or are currently participating in microfinance programmes. The data were collected through an online questionnaire focusing on financial management, business growth, and social impact. The findings indicate that while over 75% of respondents reported improved access to finance, only about half saw significant increases in their businesses' revenue and employment levels. Despite some successes, the study highlights the need for tailored support programmes that address specific challenges faced by youth entrepreneurs in urban slums. Programmes should incorporate training on business development and networking opportunities to enhance sustainability and effectiveness.
