Abstract

The Sahel region of Ethiopia is facing significant climate change challenges, impacting both natural resources and human security. Qualitative research methods were employed, including semi-structured interviews with community members and focus group discussions. A notable theme emerged regarding the impact of erratic rainfall patterns on food security, affecting up to 40% of households in drought-prone areas. Climate change exacerbates existing vulnerabilities, necessitating integrated adaptation strategies that consider both ecological and socio-economic factors. Local authorities should prioritise community-based early warning systems and support sustainable agricultural practices to enhance resilience.
