Abstract
The Central African Republic (CAR) is a landlocked country in central Africa with a complex history and economy heavily reliant on agriculture and natural resources. The study employs an exploratory qualitative approach, drawing insights from interviews with academic leaders and surveys of university faculty members. Universities in CAR are active in research areas such as agriculture and environmental science, contributing to local knowledge production and fostering collaboration among researchers. While universities play a significant role in generating knowledge, there is room for improvement in terms of resource allocation and international collaboration. The government should invest more resources into infrastructure and support research funding to enhance university capabilities.
