Abstract

Afrofuturism is a contemporary cultural movement that explores African heritage through futuristic and imaginative perspectives. Qualitative data collection was employed via semi-structured interviews with 20 Eritrean youth and cultural practitioners. Data analysis focused on thematic content. Themes emerged around technological integration into traditional practices (e.g., drones in agriculture) and a resurgence of indigenous knowledge systems. Afrofuturism provides valuable insights into how Eritrea’s young population imagines their future, blending ancient wisdom with modern innovations. Further research could explore Afrofuturism's impact on policy-making and community engagement in Eritrea.
