Abstract

E-health literacy is a critical component in effective population health management programmes, especially in rural areas where access to healthcare resources can be limited. A systematic review of existing studies examining the use of e-health literacy tools was conducted. Studies were selected based on predefined inclusion criteria, including language, methodology, and geographical relevance to rural Senegal. The analysis identified a significant proportion (35%) of participants who found the assessment tools user-friendly, with some showing improvement in health knowledge post-assessment. While e-health literacy tools showed promise, further research is needed to refine and standardise their use across different contexts. Future studies should focus on longitudinal assessments to evaluate sustained improvements in health outcomes and incorporate more diverse populations. Treatment effect was estimated with $\text{logit}(pi)=\beta0+\beta^\top X_i$, and uncertainty reported using confidence-interval based inference.
