Abstract

Land tenure systems in Mozambique have evolved over time, affecting agricultural investment patterns among rural communities. A longitudinal study employing mixed-methods research including surveys, interviews, and secondary data analysis to assess the impact of different land tenure arrangements on investment decisions and yield performance across various regions. Initial findings indicate that communal land tenure systems are associated with higher agricultural investments compared to individual plots but may result in lower yields due to shared resource management challenges. The study concludes by proposing tailored policy recommendations aimed at enhancing the efficiency of agricultural investments within diverse land tenure frameworks. Implement targeted interventions that promote equitable access and use of communal lands, while also fostering collective decision-making mechanisms for sustainable agricultural development. The empirical specification follows $Y=\beta_0+\beta^\top X+\varepsilon$, and inference is reported with uncertainty-aware statistical criteria.
