Abstract

Ethiopia's agricultural sector faces challenges in food security due to climate variability and limited access to modern crop varieties. Literature review method was employed to analyse studies published between and focusing on indigenous crops’ impact on Ethiopian agricultural systems. Indigenous crop varieties exhibit higher resilience to climate change compared to modern varieties, with a notable proportion of at least 40% in drought-prone regions. Indigenous crops play a crucial role in food security by providing adaptive strategies against environmental stressors. Promote indigenous crop conservation and incorporate them into national agricultural policies for sustainable development. The empirical specification follows $Y=\beta_0+\beta^\top X+\varepsilon$, and inference is reported with uncertainty-aware statistical criteria.
