Enhancing Network Security Practices Among Lagos Cybersecurity Practitioners: A 2001 Review

This study examines the network security practices among Lagos cybersecurity practitioners in Nigeria. A qualitative approach was employed to gather data through semi-structured interviews with selected practitioners. Data analysis involved thematic content analysis. Interviews revealed a significant proportion (37%) of participants were unaware of the latest cybersecurity threats, highlighting a need for continuous training in advanced technologies such as AI and machine learning. Lagos cybersecurity professionals require more comprehensive education on current security risks and emerging technologies to enhance their practices effectively. Organizations should mandate regular updates on new security protocols and invest in professional development programmes focusing on the latest cybersecurity tools. Model estimation used $\hat{\theta}=argmin_{\theta}\sum_i\ell(y_i,f_\theta(x_i))+\lambda\lVert\theta\rVert_2^2$, with performance evaluated using out-of-sample error.
