Health Systems Resilience in Tanzanian Epidemics: An Ethnographic Exploration

Health systems in Tanzania have faced significant challenges during epidemics, including resource constraints and community resistance to interventions. The research employed ethnographic methods involving participant observation, interviews with key informants from various sectors, and document reviews. During the Ebola outbreak, community leaders played a crucial role in facilitating health interventions despite initial resistance. This study highlights the importance of local leadership and community engagement for epidemic response efforts. Health policymakers should prioritise strengthening community partnerships to enhance future epidemic preparedness.
