Abstract

Solar irrigation systems have emerged as a viable solution for enhancing rural livelihoods in Burkina Faso, particularly among young farmers. A mixed-method approach was employed, combining qualitative interviews with a survey to gather data from rural youth in Burkina Faso. Despite initial resistance, the adoption rate has shown significant growth over the past decade, suggesting potential for broader implementation. Policy makers should prioritise training programmes to enhance understanding and support for these technologies among rural youth.
