Abstract

Education systems in post-conflict regions often face significant challenges such as infrastructure damage, teacher shortages, and student displacement. A mixed methods study combining quantitative data from standardised test scores and qualitative interviews with teachers and students. Innovative findings indicate that despite initial difficulties, there is significant improvement in student performance on standardised reading tests (average increase of 20% compared to pre-conflict levels). The study highlights the resilience of educational institutions and communities but also stresses the need for sustained support. Immediate investment in teacher training programmes and long-term planning for infrastructure restoration are recommended.
