Shifting Geopolitical Dynamics in North Africa's Energy Sector and Regional Security Implications for Côte d'Ivoire

Abstract
The geopolitical landscape of North Africa's energy sector has undergone significant shifts since , with implications for regional security and stability. A qualitative approach was employed to analyse available data from international organizations and regional reports, supplemented by expert interviews. Recent trends indicate a notable shift towards more diversified energy sources in North Africa, with renewable energy projects accounting for at least 30% of total investments over the last decade. These changes have contributed to increased security challenges due to fluctuations in oil prices and geopolitical tensions between key players in the region. Côte d'Ivoire should consider diversifying its energy mix to reduce dependency on a single source, fostering stronger diplomatic relations with regional partners, and investing in renewable infrastructure. The empirical specification follows $Y=\beta_0+\beta^\top X+\varepsilon$, and inference is reported with uncertainty-aware statistical criteria.
